On the afternoon of March 30, 2016, Ma Jianwen, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Shenzhen Association for Science and Technology; and Executive Vice Chairman Huang Yucun and Chen Junyao of the Shenzhen Chaoshan Youth Chamber of Commerce (SCYCC) visited Southern University of Science and Technology of China (SUSTech). President Chen Shiyi, Vice President Wu Chuanyue and Tang Tao, Chief Accountant Ye Qin and other leaders of SUSTech held talks with the visitors.

SCYCC is an independent legal organization established on the basis of the Youth Work Committee of the Shenzhen Chaoshan Chamber of Commerce with the approval of the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Civil Affairs, an important service platform of learning and training, internal and external training, investment cooperation and interactive development for Shenzhen & Chaoshan-born new-generation youths, as well as an exchange and cooperation platform for Chaoshan-born youths at home and abroad. Currently SCYCC has nearly 600 member enterprises in industries such as real estate, finance, investment, gold & jewelry and international trade. Most members are successors to Chaoshan enterprises and outstanding representatives of second-generation entrepreneurs who were born in the 1970s and 1980s.

In his speech, Ma said a key link in the transformation of achievements in enterprise-university-institute integration is enterprise-university cooperation. The visit, which will offer SCYCC general knowledge of SUSTech, is of great significance to the exchange and cooperation between the two sides in fields such as technology, talents and innovation & entrepreneurship. He stressed that Shenzhen is a well-known hot land for entrepreneurship, we have reached a consensus that a road of enterprise-university-institute integration should be taken in order to make enterprises more outstanding and influential in the new period, hopefully the cooperation with SUSTech will promote the development of SCYCC.
Chen welcomed SCYCC members, admiring the important role of SCYCC in Shenzhen’s economic development. He introduced the disciplinary construction of SUSTech’s schools and departments, noting that talent training is the primary task of universities, and SUSTech’s educational concept is “knowledge, innovation, entrepreneurship”-training core entrepreneurial talents who can support the future development of Shenzhen. SUSTech’s educational system featuring enterprise-university-institute integration coincides with SCYCC’s development concept of innovation and entrepreneurship. He sincerely invited SCYCC’s entrepreneurs to act as innovation and entrepreneurship tutors at SUSTech, expecting that SUSTech and SCYCC will make common progress.
Li Jipeng, general manager of SUSTech Assets Management Co., Ltd., introduced SUSTech’s transformation achievements of enterprise-university-institute integration such as unmanned aerial vehicle and gene sequencer, elaborating on SUSTech’s practice of encouraging teaching and administrative staff to get involved in enterprise-university-institute integration as well as its positive role in student innovation and entrepreneurship.
Visiting entrepreneurs, including Chen Qinpeng, Zhao Wenfa and Ding Shantou, delivered speeches at the seminar, offering their opinions on enterprise-university-institute integration and the cooperation between the two sides. The two sides further explored the possibility of future cooperation.
Prior to the seminar, accompanied by Ye, SCYCC’s entrepreneurs visited the sand table, colleges and other sites of SUSTech.
