Last week, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) launched its undergraduate admissions campaign to encourage qualified students from rural and urban schools across Hunan and Guangdong provinces to apply.
A total of ten admissions seminars in nine provinces of China were held. SUSTech University Council Chairperson Guo Yurong went to both Guangdong and Hunan to attend two seminars.
Chairperson Guo Yurong introduced SUSTech as an innovative university. SUSTech has a mission of exploring and reforming the modern university system with Chinese characteristics. She analyzed SUSTech’s unique characteristics and recent achievements. Chairperson Guo Yurong discussed the advantages of SUSTech such as its development plans, its talent pipeline, and the strength of its educators. She also talked about the scientific research and development opportunities that will arise from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area. The Chairperson hoped that potential candidates would choose SUSTech as a result of them learning more about us.
Many university leaders, academicians, professors and staff members have traveled around the country to talk to prospective students. Many outstanding students also went back to their home towns to provide their own perspective of SUSTech.
The seminar was well-attended by students and parents across the country. More than 4000 people registered for the seminars across the country than the same time last year.
