According to a circular of the Ministry of Education, the five majors (Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics, Information Engineering, Computer Science and Technology, Environmental Science and Engineering) declared by Southern University of Science and Technology of China (SUSTech) in 2015 have been qualified through national reviews, increasing the total number of SUSTech’s majors to 17.

In 2015, SUSTech worked out a further plan for disciplinary development, and achieved significant results in disciplinary and degree construction. According to the source, in 2016, SUSTech will declare new majors in fields such as machinery and energy, marine science and mechanics, and aviation and aerospace, to further increase the number and quality of undergraduate majors.
