Graduates of Department of Chemistry Achieve Good Results in Further Education and Employment

SUSTech is about to send off a new group of graduates. This year witnesses a brilliant performance of students from Department of Chemistry. Fan Zili, Yang Xin, Guo Jingyao and Wu Zishan, excellent graduates of class of 2016 from Department of Chemistry, have finished their first year of doctoral courses in School of Chemistry of UCLA (University of California-Los Angeles), TAMU ( Texas A&M University), University of Utah and Yale University respectively. Jin Shui has finished his first year of bachelor study in Columbia University.

There are all together 35 students in class of 2012 of Department of Chemistry. Up to now, 20 of them have received offers for doctoral programs from top universities around the world, such as New York University ( NYU), Duke University and University of Chicago. Seven students received offers from more than 3 world famous universities. For example, Chen Su got offers from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Northwestern University, Cornell University, Texas A&M University, Ohio State University and University of Utah at the same time; Wang Jinglin received offers from Northeastern University, Brandeis University, NYU, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and University of Pittsburgh; and Cai Chenxi received offers from Florida State University, University of Maryland,  Emory University, NYU, State University of New York at Stony Brook and Iowa State University of Science and Technology. Besides, eight students are already employed by large enterprises and institutions such as Huawei and Bond Education. With still several months before graduation, the employment rate of the students has reached up to 80%, ranking first in the university. These good results come not only from the efforts of students but also from the rapid development of the department as well as the experienced faculty and R&D capacity.
