On the afternoon of April 29, 2016, a delegation from the University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB) visited Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), including President ZHANG Xinxin and Vice President WANG Ge. Vice President WU Chuanyue, Chief Finance Officer YE Qin along with leaders representatives from departments attended the meeting.

USTB was founded in 1952, which has developed into one of the most influential key national universities sponsored by the Chinese Ministry of Education. USTB is renowned for its study of metallurgy and materials science. Its main focus is on engineering;at the same time it maintains a balanced program of science, management, humanities, economics and law. It was one of the first universities to be entitled to establish state-approved graduate schools and was chosen to be part of China’s “211 Project”, which is designed to develop a hundred first rate universities in the 21st century.

During the meeting, President CHEN Shiyi welcomed the delegation and said that SUSTech values the cooperation between the institutions and universities and hopes to make academic exchange and cooperation in the field of talent introduction, research and students training. Vice President WU made a brief introduction about SUSTech.

After a brief introduction about USTB, President ZHANG expressed his desire to continue and deepen the cooperation with SUSTech in the field of talent introduction, research and global engagement.

Prior to the meeting, the delegation also visited the sand table and the laboratories.
