Last week, the Trade Union and Sports Center at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) organized a staff and faculty badminton tournament. Despite the rain across Shenzhen, the tournament was well attended, with Runyang Stadium filled with participants.

SUSTech University Council Vice Chairperson Li Fengliang participated in the tournament and attended the final ceremony. He was accompanied by Vice Dean of the College of Science and the President of the SUSTech Badminton Association He Jiaqing, Vice Chairman of the Trade Union Zhang Yang and Deputy Director of the Office of University Affairs Liu Yuening.

There were five tournaments in total. There were two singles tournaments, and three doubles tournaments. Vice Chairperson Li Fengliang said that SUSTech encouraged its faculty and staff to pay attention to their physical and mental health.

Organizing different sports activities helps promote their physical and mental health, while strengthening their communication and interaction. SUSTech will also organize other activities to enrich the cultural lives of its faculty and staff. These activities will aim to enhance the physical, emotional and mental wellbeing of the faculty and staff.
