April 22nd is World Earth Day. To celebrate, the Earth and Space Sciences Graduate student union at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) held an Earth Culture Festival. It sought to encourage everyone to look after the planet and its scarce resources.

There were many activities as part of the festival. There was a documentary screening, low-carbon emissions and the recycling of plastic bottles as pots for plants.

The Department of Earth and Space Sciences organized a quiz about geology, common minerals and rocks. The students, faculty members and staff who participated in the quiz were extremely enthusiastic in their quest to win a prize.
