Shenzhen Senior High School visits SUSTech

Last weekend, students and teachers from Shenzhen Senior High School (SZSHS) came to Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech).

Professor He Jiaqing from the Department of Physics gave the SZSHS audience a lecture entitled “The Destiny of the Universe and Mankind.” He talked about the history of the human universe and the future of the universe, to inspire the students to explore the field of astrophysics.

After the lecture, the teachers and students visited the laboratory of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, the Physics Laboratory, and the Pico Center. Under the guidance of the teacher of Physics Department of our university, the students also completed the experimental projects of Young’s modulus, thermal resistor and temperature alarm.

Shenzhen Senior High School signed a cooperation agreement with SUSTech in April 2018 for the “Joint Education Base for Innovative Talents”. The activity over the weekend was the first for the joint training of innovative talents. SUSTech will continue to cooperate with outstanding middle schools such as Shenzhen High School to explore an effective mechanism to connect secondary schools to SUSTech, in order to develop a top-notch talent pipeline.
