Intellectual Property Rights discussed at SUSTech

Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) recently hosted a forum to discuss the protection and application of intellectual property rights (IPRs). SUSTech Vice President Teng Jinguang attended the meeting on behalf of the University.

The forum was titled “Strengthening the Protection and Application of Intellectual Property Rights and Optimizing the Environment for Innovation and Development of the Greater Bay Area.” SUSTech Technology Transfer Center Director Zhang Zuotai briefed the attendees about recent developments in the scientific and technological innovation environment. He focused specifically on the protection of IPRs, the impact of applying IPRs, barriers for creating IPRs in innovative environments and the problem of protecting IPRs.

The forum also discussed how to coordinate the IP protection system under different regulatory systems. Attendees also looked at how to promote the coordinated development of science and technology, while supporting the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area International Science and Technology Innovation Center.
