SUSTech-ZTEICT Joint AI Lab unveiled

Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) and ZTEICT Technology Co., Ltd (ZTEICT) announced a new joint laboratory, called the “SUSTech-ZTE Joint Artificial Intelligence Laboratory.” SUSTech Vice President Teng Jinguang and Acting Vice President Zhao Yusheng were joined by ZTEICT President Shi Ligong and Nanshan Deputy Director of Science and Technology Du Zheng. Professor Yu Hao from the SUSTech School of Microelectronics hosted the ceremony.

Acting Vice President Zhao Yusheng said that SUSTech is committed to the development opportunities of the Greater Bay Area, and will use Shenzhen’s industrial advantages to conduct deeper industry-university research cooperation with leading enterprises. The SUSTech-ZTEICT Joint AI Lab will boost Shenzhen’s comprehensive AI development.

President Hu Jianlin of ZTE Network Products Research Institute added that establishing a joint laboratory with SUSTech would see the Joint AI Lab study basic AI techniques and algorithms, while incubating scientific and technological achievements. ZTEICT’s Smart City Project will ensure that research results will be effectively transformed to the benefit of both institutions.

Following the speeches, ZTEICT Products Research Institute President Hu Jianlin and Dean Yu Hongyu of the SUSTech School of Microelectronics signed the cooperation agreement. The SUSTech-ZTEICT Joint AI Lab was unveiled by ZTEICT President Shi Ligong and SUSTech Vice President Teng Jinguang.
