Last week, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) held the third professional development session for the spring semester. Professor Wu Yanhong from the School of Psychological and Cognitive Sciences at Peking University spoke about “What do students like?”

Leaning on her own research and study, Professor Wu Yanhong pointed out that excellent teachers who are welcomed by students are highly professional with a positive attitude. She provided the assembled educators with methods for understanding student psychology, and ways of effectively communicating with students. Professor Wu Yanhong used her research and teaching experience and compared it to her experience in common situations experienced by teachers, to help them reduce the pressure on both themselves and their students.

The audience was provided with many case studies to enhance their understanding of basic theory. They asked many questions after the lecture, exchanging thoughts and ideas with Professor Wu Yanhong.
