In order to carry out targeted poverty alleviation, on August 7, member of SUSTech Party Committee and Vice President Qin Zheng led a team to carry out poverty alleviation activities in Chaotian Village, Heping County, Heyuan City.

In Chaotian Village, the team examined the construction of village library and poverty alleviation publicity column, and listened to the process of poverty alleviation. They learned more about this village, its farmers and its economic development. Qin Zheng pointed out that we should find new ways of alleviating poverty and bring SUSTech’s resources into full play to develop characteristic industries and carry out targeted poverty alleviation, so as to boost the economic development of Chaotian Village and improve its situation.

Then the team visited poor families enjoying five guarantees. Qin Zheng also handed gifts to them on behalf of SUSTech.

After the visit to Chaotian Village, the team went to Heping County to discuss the cooperation between SUSTech and Science and Technology Bureau of Heyuan to achieve scientific and characteristic poverty alleviation. The two sides reache preliminary agreements, and would further the cooperation with the support of relevant departments.

Relevant staff from SUSTech Asset Management Company, Office of General Affairs, Office of Public Relations, Science and Technology Bureau of Heyuan, Heping County Government and Chaotian Village took part in these activities.
