Earlier this week, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) held its annual Health and Safety conference. SUSTech University Council Chairperson Guo Yurong, President Chen Shiyi, Vice Chairperson, Vice President Lu Chun and Acting Vice President Zhao Yusheng were among the many senior leaders, faculty members, security officers, and laboratory staff in attendance. Deputy Director Jiang Xianggui of the Office of Safety, Health and Environment chaired the conference.

President Chen Shiyi opened the conference by emphasizing the importance of being safe. Vice President Lu Chun pointed out the importance of campus security in an array of areas. He encouraged everyone to improve their safety and inspection mechanisms in their work programs.

Chairperson Guo Yurong closed the ceremony by commending everyone on improving safety across campus. She hoped that everyone across SUSTech would continue to work together in the implementation of safety procedures. Chairperson Guo Yurong also wanted SUSTech to innovate in health and safety to maintain campus safety and security, as part of its larger quest to build an internationalized high-level research university.
