Guo delivered a speech after the training. She said: “When I asked you if the military training was tough, you said you didn’t fear hardship. Your answer is of wisdom, telling me it is a tough training, but you are vigorous, courageous and not afraid of difficulties.” She emphasized that the military training is meaningful. “It can deepen your understanding of national defense and fortify your attachment to the country; it can build your willpower and make you more perseverant, adaptive and enterprising; it can tap your own potential, open up your eyes and lead you to think out of the box.” She hoped that the students would apply what they had learned through military training into the next four years on campus.
