On the afternoon of September 9, 2016, Yi Min, CEO of Hong Kong MTR Corporation Limited (China), gave a lecture titled “Leadership and Decision-Making: To Start a Business is to Shape Ourselves” in the lecture hall of the No.1 Faculty Research Building, which attracted attention in and out of SUSTech. This lecture marked the opening of the SUSTech Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum.

As a famous professional manager, Yi Min was appointed as the CEO of Hong Kong MTR (China) in August 2012. Before that, he was once President of Novartis Pharmaceuticals in Greater China, General Manager of General Electric Company (GE) in Bohai Economic Rim (BER), Vice President of British Petroleum (China), etc.
During the lecture, Yi Min shared his work and life experience and answered the questions raised by the audience, which aroused rounds of applause. This well-received lecture made a good start for the SUSTech Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum.
A Student Asking a Question
An attendant in the workforce said that he was impressed and benefited by Mr. Yi’s life experience and philosophy. A staff working in SUSTech also expressed that he was inspired by Mr. Yi’s insights. Another participant who had started up a business said he hoped there would be more opportunities to communicate with the lecturer. Many SUSTech students signed up for the SUSTech Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum soon after the lecture.
