Guo Yurong, Chairperson of University Council, Visited Zhejiang University

 On November 9, 2016, Guo Yurong, Chairperson of University Council, accompanied by Li Fengliang, Vie-Chairperson of University Council and relevant personnel from the Party and Government Office, Planning and Development Department and Financial Department, paid a visit to Zhejiang University for studies. Jin Deshui, Secretary of Party Committee of Zhejiang University, Ren Shaobo, Vice President of Zhejiang University, Hu Xuming, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of Zhejiang University and the heads of Organization Department of Party Committee, Planned Finance Office and Management Centre of Administrative Service Office gave a warm reception.

 Amid five years of construction, Guo Yurong said, SUSTech witnessed a rapid growth. In 2016, SUSTech recorded 3,238 undergraduates and graduates, 240 introduced teachers, 13 departments and 17 undergraduate majors. Now, SUSTech is in an urgent need of strong support from administrative services. Zhejiang University, as a world-class college with long history, will provide numerous mature experiences in building efficient and simplified administrative system, improving procedures for administrative examinations, optimizing resources allocation, etc.

Carrying a warm welcome, Jin Deshui said, despite the short funding history, SUSTech is full of potential for its high standards. SUSTech’s valuable reforms and explorations in internal governance and talents cultivation are of great significance for the development of higher education in China. Ren Shaobo gave a full introduction to the measures and ideas of Zhejiang University in the development, party construction and improvement of administrative services. Later, the two schools had talks on school development, improvement of administrative service and support, etc.

After the talks, Guo Yurong and the delegation visited the International Campus (Haining) of Zhejiang University for detailed understanding on its planning and construction.
