On the morning of November 3, 2016, accompanied by Zhang Sufen, Vice Chairman of the Shenzhen Federation of Trade Unions, Chen Zhaoqing, Chairman of the Guangdong Educational, Scientific, Cultural and Health Industry Workers’ Trade Union (GESCHIWTU), led a delegation comprising over 80 chairmen of grass-roots trade unions directly under GESCHIWTU to Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech).

Wang Yongjie, Member of the University Council and Director of the University Affairs Office of SUSTech showed the delegation around the academies, library and other places of SUSTech. At an ensuing meeting, he introduced the development, governance system, achievements and trade union development of SUSTech. The Trade Union of SUSTech was established in February 2016. Though it was established not long ago, SUSTech has attached great importance to its work. Chen and the delegation spoke highly of SUSTech’s efforts in trade union construction.

Chen voiced his impression on SUSTech in three words, praising SUSTech’s elaborate operation, wholehearted services and good results in trade union work, its courage of building a world top university, as well as its unique and fascinating temperament. He expected the Trade Union of SUSTech to carry forward SUSTech’s exploring spirit in trade union construction and staff service.

Zhang expected the Trade Union of SUSTech to be a model in Shenzhen’s educational, scientific, cultural and health industry workers’ trade union system, and strive to be a model base of the Guangdong Federation of Trade Unions.

Wu Jinghong, Executive Vice Chairman of the Faculty and Staff Union of Sun Yat-sen University; He Jianhua, Executive Vice Chairman of the Labor Union of South China University of Technology; Hou Hongwei, Executive Vice Chairman of the Trade Union of Jinan University and other executives were involved in the visit.
