On December 26, 2016, Lu Lipeng, a professor in charge of fluid machinery and engineering and a doctoral tutor at the School of Energy and Power Engineering, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (BUAA), was invited to give a keynote lecture entitled “NSFC Application and Review Experience Exchange” at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). Gong Yi, Deputy Director of the Office of Research, SUSTech, presided over the lecture.

With rich experience in fund application, review and management, Lu is in charge of national programs such as key NSFC programs, key programs of joint funds and 973 programs, and was President of the Institute of Basic Research, BUAA. From the different perspectives of an applicant, a program review expert and a project manager, he elaborated on the orientation of NSFC programs, the key concerns of NSFC program review experts and how to gain trust from review experts, sharing his years of research experience.

Lu’s lecture received good response from the teachers present. With operational content, this lecture is of great guiding significance to accurately grasping the essentials of writing NSFC program applications and further improving the quality of applications.
