On the 9th of March 2017, SUSTech had the honor of welcoming Mr Liu Yan, Shanghai’s Science and Technology Committee (STCSM)’s secretary to take part in discussions with SUSTech’s Vice-president Professor Tang Tao and other guests.

Professor Tang introduced Mr Liu and his accompanying staff to the university’s philosophy and it’s ambition to attract the world’s best talent, as well as to become one of the world’s top international research universities.

Mr Liu pointed out that the way SUSTech is operated as a university is a completely new concept, and he hopes that Shanghai’s scientific research institutions, colleges and universities can learn from these new training and learning experiences.

Both sides held in-depth discussions and exchanged on topics ranging from admissions policy to production and research, with the heads of all the relevant departments invited to join in.

Mr Liu and his team were also presented with the phase II of the campus development construction models and were invited to view SUSTech’s promotional material.
