The College of Engineering at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) took advantage of the good weather in putting on its Welcome Party last weekend in the outdoor theatre. College of Engineering Dean Xu Zhenghe welcomed the students and guests, along with other senior officials across SUSTech.

Many faculty members from departments across the College of Engineering provided delightful musical performances in the warm summer air, as did undergraduate and postgraduate students. The night was not exclusively a musical event, with Department of Ocean Science and Engineering Professor Liu Qingsong opting to provide a comedic monologue and Zhicheng College undergraduate student giving a unique dance performance, both to the delight of the audience.

As part of the night, Materials Science and Engineering Chair Professor gave the first lesson to the students of the College of Engineering. She encouraged the students to take advantage of the opportunities presented to them while at SUSTech.

Students and faculty members who celebrate their birthdays in September received 3D printed gifts from the Department of Mechanical and Energy Engineering, while being serenaded by the audience.
