Following the flag-raising ceremony for the 70th anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) held several viewing sites around campus for students and faculty members to watch the live broadcast of the 70th anniversary parade. Guangdong Provincial Education Department deputy director Xing Feng joined SUSTech University Council Vice Chairperson Li Fengliang, Acting Vice President Zhang Dongxiao and other senior leaders in one of the viewing sites on campus.

The students, faculty members, and senior leaders were greatly inspired by the parade, finding that it resonated with their desire to contribute to society through their advancement of science and technology.

Several students reflected on the challenges faced by previous pioneers that had shaped the nation and hoped that they would cut through bottlenecks in their research to become the future leaders of the new era.

The viewing of the live broadcast represents just one event as part of SUSTech’s activities for the 70th anniversary of the Founding of The People’s Republic of China. Several other activities will take place as part of the National Day festivities, with the view to inspire the entire SUSTech community.
