SUSTech supports poverty alleviation work

Over the weekend, several members of Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) welcomed officials from Chaotian Village to discuss how to best help them in their quest to improve their lives. The Chaotian Village delegation was met by SUSTech Secretary-General Chen Siqi.

Several discussions and classes were had to work out how SUSTech could best help Chaotian Village, in terms of developing their hometown. SUSTech Secretary-General Chen Siqi encouraged the villagers to learn from SUSTech in growing and developing from new ideas.

Chaotian Village is a counterpart of SUSTech. It is located in Heping County, Heyuan City. It covers an area of ​​2.45 square kilometers. There are 382 households in the village with a total population of more than 1,700. It is an under-developed village with few people and few natural resources. The purpose of this activity is to promote poverty alleviation work, strengthen joint construction and management, and provide an active group fighting for poverty alleviation.
