With the 5^th Annual SUSTech Sports Meeting, the SUSTech community filled Green Pine Capital Stadium, prepared to show off their athletic prowess in both traditional and technological pursuits.

At 8 am, the opening ceremony commenced, and athletes entered Green Pine Capital Stadium. Over 300 students and 450 faculty & staff members formed 20 teams that marched in front of the rostrum. SUSTech University Council Vice Chairperson Li Fengliang led the group of senior leaders who observed the opening ceremony. The student escorts escorted the national flag, the University banner, and the school badge with full spirit to the rostrum.

The most striking scene was when the college teams entered the stadium. The students in the colleges showed their beautiful images of youth, enthusiasm, vitality, and sports in front of the podium. Several teams from academic, administrative, and research departments joined in the opening ceremony, resplendent in the matching uniforms. This year saw the debut of teams from the two Affiliated Hospitals, SUSTech Hospital, SUSTech-Yantian District Hospital, and the SUSTech Affiliated Hospital.

University Council Vice Chairperson Li Fengliang welcomed all the participating athletes to the 5^th Sports Meeting and highlighted the importance of physical activity for scientists & engineers.

SUSTech remained committed to the promotion of sports on campus, which is why it continually invests in its sports infrastructure and hopes that the Olympic spirit of “higher, stronger and faster” is imbued in the SUSTech community with enthusiasm to contribute to the development of SUSTech.

The wide range of traditional and intelligent physical activities kept student and faculty teams busy all day. A day of fierce competition saw Zhiren College top the undergraduate student standings, the College of Engineering at the pinnacle of the postgraduate student tally and debutant team SUSTech-Yantian District Hospital win the faculty group.
