Taekwondo team take third in provincial university championships

The last four days saw the Taekwondo team of Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) travel to Zhuhai for the Guangdong Provincial University Taekwondo Championships. Over four days, students competed in a wide range of weight divisions, ultimately finishing third with three gold medals, two silvers and two bronzes. The team also claimed the Best Technique award and the Sportsmanship award.

The SUSTech spirit was strong throughout all the students, with Zhang Junyi winning the 54kg men’s division, Li Bohan winning the 66kg men’s division and Li Sibo winning the 55kg women’s division as well as the Best Technique Award. The team was established in 2014, and reorganized in 2018, and their many medals reflect their hard work and training.

The competition was sponsored by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education, sponsored by the Guangdong Provincial Student Sports Art Federation and hosted by Zhongshan University.
