On November 24, the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) hosted the “2019 Dean’s Forum of Electronic Information Discipline and New Progress in Engineering Education Seminar.”
More than 20 deans from top universities around China attended the forum, which focused on the integration of industry and education, interdisciplinary engineering innovation talents training for in-depth and extensive discussion and exchange.
College of Engineering Deputy Dean Zhang Bi discussed the emerging engineering discipline at SUSTech, before moving onto the achievements of EEE. He hoped that all the electronics departments represented today would concentrate on advancing emerging education by taking advantage of interdisciplinary industry-university research.
Many reports were given at the meeting by top scholars including EEE Head Professor Sun Xiaowei. Participating experts and deans had many in-depth discussions on issues such as reform and innovation of the emerging engineering discipline.
This is the third time the Dean’s Forum of Electronic Information Discipline has taken place. This forum focused on educational reforms and innovations in areas such as curriculum setting, industry-university integrative training, and talent programs.
