On Saturday, December 7, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone (Qianhai Administration Bureau).

Preparatory Office of Affiliated Hospitals Director Wang Pengfei signed the agreement with the Qianhai Bureau of Management Assistant to the Director Wen Ping. Leaders of the Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee, Qianhai Shekou Free Trade Zone Management Committee Director, and Qianhai Administration Bureau Director Tian Fu oversaw the signing ceremony.

Under the terms of the agreement, SUSTech will set up the Qianhai Institute of Financial Technology and work with the Qianhai Administration Bureau in financial technology.

Both sides believe that the construction of the Qianhai Institute of Financial Technology will support the concentrated development of the fintech industry in Qianhai. It will also contribute to SUSTech’s contribution to the development of Shenzhen as a pioneering demonstration zone, as well as the industrial transformation of the Greater Bay Area.

Related industries and research groups will also benefit from the Qianhai Institute of Financial Technology, providing opportunities for interdisciplinary research and mutually beneficial outcomes for all.
