Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) has recently signed an agreement with the Pingshan District Government at the 2019 Shenzhen Biopharma Innovation and Development Summit. The Forum was co-organized by the Academy of Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies (AAIS) at SUSTech and the Shenzhen Life Science & Biotechnology Association.
Pingshan District Mayor Li Yong, Deputy Mayor Chen Huaping, SUSTech Acting Vice President Zhang Dongxiao, and SUSTech AAIS Institute of Biomedicine Dean Zhang Xumu all attended the meeting. They were joined by experts, scholars, executives and financiers from around the country.
SUSTech College of Science Deputy Dean Zhang Xumu spoke about the Institute of Biomedicine at SUSTech. He focused on the three research centers and seven platforms of the Institute, before discussing its plans for the future from its recent achievements.
Pingshan Deputy Mayor Chen Huaping and Institute of Biomedicine Dean Zhang Xumu signed an agreement which will see SUSTech cooperate with Pingshan in the development of biomedical research institutes and achievements in the district. There will be further collaboration in a wide range of areas.
The AAIS Institute of Biomedicine is one of seven research institutes that supports the industrial transformation of the Greater Bay Area through interdisciplinary research. The Institute of Biomedicine aims to promote the development of the life sciences and the biomedical industry across China.
