Between December 29 and 30, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) Associate Professor Sun Dazhi from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) received an industry-university research cooperation innovation award at the China Industry-University Research Cooperation Promotion Awards. He received the award from his project titled “Development and Application of Advanced Nano-lubricating and Anti-wear Materials.”
Leaders, experts, and scholars from relevant national ministries and commissions, scientific research institutes, such as the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the Ministry of Education (MOE), and the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) attended the conference, along with more than 1500 representatives of the industry-university research community.
The project was a collaborative effort between SUSTech, Shenzhen Nanke New Material Technology Co., Ltd., Peking University Baotou Innovation Research Institute, Shenzhen Youbaohui New Material Technology, and Baotou Synergy Nano New Material Technology Co., Ltd.
Awards were given to the units and individuals who have made outstanding contributions in industry-university research cooperation and innovation. MSE Associate Professor Sun Dazhi has been studying advanced nano-lubricating and anti-wear materials while developing advanced nanomaterials dispersion technology.
The research group of Associate Professor Sun Dazhi started late in their research, development and application of nano-functional lubrication systems. They have provided a broader space for the dispersion and use of insoluble materials, which offers development ideas for scholars in the field. They have made significant developments in lubrication products that provide high value-add, which have helped break the situation of foreign brands having a monopoly over the nano-lubricating industry in mainland China.
