It is part of the celebrations for the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China. Liu Yang has won numerous awards in Chinese literature and art, as well as for his journalistic prowess. He took the opportunity to talk about how to honor the country through music. He also interpreted many of the songs in terms of Chinese history and how they play an essential role in driving the nation forward and uniting society.
Li Fengliang thanked Liu Yang for coming to SUSTech to explain the importance of music in bringing everyone in society together under one flag for one nation. In closing the lecture, he said that the songs interpreted in the class cover more than a century of Chinese history, and SUSTech would continue to carry forward the spirit imbued in these tunes to realize the Chinese dream.
