Happy Chinese New Year! A Special Reunion in Campus
Chris Edwards | 01/24/2020

On January 24, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) opted to cancel its original Lunar New Year lunch to protect the health of its students and faculty members that have chosen to stay and work throughout this period. However, SUSTech has not forgotten its indefatigable researchers, providing a delightful takeaway lunch for the SUSTech community that remained in Shenzhen.

Department of Physics Associate Professor Liu Qihang was highly appreciative of SUSTech’s efforts. He understood the efforts of students that had chosen to stay in Shenzhen instead of return to their hometowns at this time and treasured the students who are staying at SUSTech this lunar new year.

Earlier in the week, various leaders visited the student dormitories to extend their best wishes to the staying students over the lunar new year. The leaders ensured that the students would be able to look after themselves during this difficult period, focusing on personal hygiene. They offered their support in ensuring that students have access to their counselors and residential college managers, even if they are concentrating on their scientific research.

The University wishes all the students and faculty members a peaceful, happy, and fulfilling Spring Festival.
