Associate Professor Wang Fei from the School of Microelectronics (SME) at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) was an invited speaker at the 33rd Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) International Conference on Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS 2020).

Associate Professor Wang Fei was one of eight invited scholars to give a presentation at IEEE MEMS 2020 and the only expert from mainland China.

He gave a thirty-minute presentation on “MEMS gas sensors – from nanomaterials to microelectrodes.” He spoke about SUSTech’s development before moving onto the progress of his research group. Bosch has expressed significant interest in his group’s research, along with other universities and research institutions.

IEEE MEMS 2020 is one of the premier annual events reporting research results on every aspect of Microsystems technology. This conference reflects the rapid proliferation of the commitment and success of the Microsystems research community. In recent years, the IEEE MEMS Conference has attracted more than 700 participants. Dr. Wang Fei’s research group also submitted five session summaries, of which four were adopted. The adoption rate was much higher than any other institution attending IEEE MEMS 2020, which reflects the international competitiveness of SME and SUSTech.
