Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) continues to monitor the evolving novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) situation in mainland China and around the world. SUSTech has prioritized the well-being of everyone at SUSTech while minimizing disruption to our students’ education. There are many teams across SUSTech working hard to maintain the health and safety across campus while planning for the future.

During this challenging period, SUSTech has developed a series of measures to protect the community, while adhering to national, provincial, and municipal health regulations. Staff have been working with those living on campus every day to ensure that they have maintained their physical health.

The ULife Service Center has been supporting the community on campus by providing a variety of services to those that need to undergo quarantine or self-isolation in the apartments. The Psychological Growth Center has provided vital mental and emotional support to students and parents, while the Employment Guidance Center has also promoted a variety of employment-related information.

There has been intensive investigations and maintenance of vital infrastructure to maintain the safety of everyone at SUSTech. Many teams are working together to carry out comprehensive safety inspections across campus.

There have been consistent high-impact communications through numerous social media channels. Prevention and control programs have been promoted to provide faculty, staff, and students with the relevant information ahead of their eventual return to campus.

The residential college counselors have also been in constant communication with their students to ensure that they are properly informed of the latest SUSTech notices and are staying safe.
