On February 18, Times Higher Education (THE) released its THE Emerging Economies University Rankings 2020. It ranked Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) 30th among 533 universities from 47 emerging markets, six places higher from last year.
The rankings use the same 13 performance indicators as the THE World University Rankings to judge institutions on their teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook. For the THE Emerging Economies University Rankings, they are recalibrated to reflect the development priorities of universities in emerging economies.
It includes only institutions in countries or regions classified by FTSE as “advanced emerging,” “secondary emerging,” or “frontier.”
Last year SUSTech submitted its data for the first time, where it was ranked 36th in the world and 14th in China.
