Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) has always been committed to high-level research with other institutions, whether they are commercial entities or other universities around the world. With that in mind, SUSTech leaders, administrators, and faculty members came together to discuss how to best take advantage of a range of new initiatives to encourage industry-university cooperation.

The Deans and Vice-Deans of the College of Science, College of Engineering, School of Medicine, and School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship joined Acting Vice President Yusheng ZHAO and Technology Transfer Center Director Zuotai ZHANG at this seminar. Several other leaders from the Research Office and the Technology Transfer Center were also in attendance.

The seminar discussed new government regulations from the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) that focused on joint laboratories and industry-university research cooperation. The College representatives discussed their current situations before moving on to their plans and prospects for the future in terms of new joint laboratories and industry-university research partnerships.

The Technology Transfer Center spoke about the new joint laboratories on campus and its plans. It focused on how to strengthen cooperation between industry partners and universities.

Acting Vice President Yusheng ZHAO closed the meeting by asking all Colleges to pay great attention to their industry-university research cooperation. They should also focus on the needs of the nation, the region, and Shenzhen when they establish new partnerships.
