On July 3, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) received the proverbial keys to the College of Engineering, the SUSTech Center, the School for Humanities and the Social Sciences, and the Academic Exchange Center.

University Council Chairperson Yurong GUO, Vice President Chun LU, Shenzhen Municipal Public Works Bureau Director Hengli QIAO, and Deputy Director Xu HUANG were all in attendance at the ceremony. Xu HUANG presided over the ceremony.

Shenzhen Municipal Public Works Bureau Director Hengli QIAO presented the ceremonial key to University Council Chairperson Yurong GUO, thereby handing over all four buildings to SUSTech.

Yurong GUO and Vice President Chun LU presented a certificate of gratitude to Hengli QIAO and Xu HUANG respectively to thank the Shenzhen Municipal Public Works Bureau for their contributions to SUSTech.

Director Hengli QIAO addressed the ceremony, saying that the completion of the second phase of construction at SUSTech represents a new stage in SUSTech striving to become a world-class university. Their focus on creating a beautiful and comfortable environment for the entire SUSTech community had provided buildings that integrate perfectly with the 40^th anniversary of the establishment of Shenzhen.

University Council Chairperson Yurong GUO thanked the Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government for their ongoing support for SUSTech. She also expressed her gratitude for the Shenzhen Municipal Public Works Bureau and the associated contractors for their continued efforts in making SUSTech the most beautiful university campus in China. She provided a briefing about SUSTech, pointing out that SUSTech persists in its broader goals of higher education development. The second phase of campus development has been essential for SUSTech’s sustained growth, and the hand-over of these buildings provide optimal teaching, learning, and research spaces for SUSTech’s further development.
