On July 5, the College of Engineering at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) launched the branch office of the Alumni Association. University Council Vice Chairperson Fengliang LI, Vice President Dongxiao ZHANG, Human Resources Director Zhifeng CHEN, College of Engineering Dean Zhenghe XU and College of Engineering Party Committee Secretary Hong WANG came together to attend the inauguration ceremony. More than ninety other people also attended the ceremony from across the College of Engineering.

University Council Vice Chairperson Fengliang LI congratulated on the establishment of the branch office. He emphasized the importance of improving the alumni service in the development of SUSTech. He hoped that the College of Engineering would cultivate an influential alumni culture within its students and pass on the three spiritual pillars of “research, innovation, and entrepreneurship.” They should also support their alumni to continue their professional development while cooperating with their fellow alumni for mutual progress.

Vice President Dongxiao ZHANG said that the College of Engineering had a great responsibility to launch its Alumni Association branch. The College of Engineering has the largest volume of students and the most alumni. Thus, the achievements of its alumni should be heralded through the creation of its Association. He hoped their Alumni Association branch would play an active role in linking alumni to SUSTech and the College of Engineering going forward.

College of Engineering Dean Zhenghe XU said that the development of the College of Engineering is inseparable from the unremitting efforts of all members of the College of Engineering, past and present. He hoped that the Alumni Association branch would continue to strengthen connections between the College and its alumni.
