From July 3 to 5, the Institute for Quantum Science and Engineering (IQSE) at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) held a summer camp with twenty-six top students from domestic universities such as Peking University, the University of Science and Technology of China and Wuhan University.

The International Quantum Academy – Futian hosted the opening ceremony on July 4. SUSTech Vice President Dongxiao ZHANG, IQSE Dean Dapeng YU, and Graduate School Executive Vice President Shuanghua YANG all attended the opening ceremony.

Vice President Dongxiao ZHANG said that the COVID-19 outbreak had unlocked the way to deliver education. But, it would not stop them from learning and exploring quantum science. He hoped that the camp attendees enjoyed their studies and time at SUSTech. Graduate School Executive Vice President Shuanghua YANG provided a briefing about SUSTech, and IQSE Dean Dapeng YU spoke about the development of IQSE.

IQSE researchers gave lectures to the students, and the Graduate School staff provided vital information about its enrollment procedures.

The campers came to SUSTech to meet with the faculty, tour campus, check out the graduate dormitories and explore the laboratories. They expressed their appreciation for SUSTech’s academic atmosphere and culture.

On July 5, the campers partook in interviews at the Futian International Technology Innovation Center, experiencing part of the projects being undertaken.
