On August 18, the Shenzhen Research Center for the Establishment of a Pioneering Demonstration Zone (Shenzhen Research Center) was founded at the Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee Party School. The Shenzhen Research Center is the Guangdong Provincial social science research base.

Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech)will serve as the deputy director unit of the Shenzhen Research Center. SUSTech President Shiyi CHEN was appointed to be a special researcher for the center. SUSTech University Council Chairperson Yurong GUO and Vice-Chairperson Fengliang LI attended the ceremony, along with senior officials from the Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government.

The Shenzhen Research Center is a city-wide research institute that will undertake theoretical research, provide high-quality consultation for policy-makers, education, and training. The nearly 200 researchers across more than ten disciplines will support Shenzhen in its goal to become a pioneering demonstration zone.
