On September 18, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) welcomed a delegation from the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE). President Wenbin XIA and Vice President Qiang WANG led the UIBE delegation. They met with SUSTech President Shiyi CHEN, Vice President & Provost Dongxiao ZHANG, and Acting Vice President Yusheng ZHAO.

Before the discussion, Xia Wenbin and his entourage visited the 3D construction planning sand table. They got a briefing about the overall plan for SUSTech. They also took part in a campus tour, including the Lynn Library, the SUSTech Center, and Lakeside Dormitories.

At the meeting between the two sides, SUSTech President Shiyi CHEN welcomed the UIBE delegation. He pointed out that SUSTech is striving to become a world-class university, rooted in China. It is taking advantage of the innovative genes of Shenzhen and looking out into the world to become the most entrepreneurial university in China. SUSTech seeks to become a first-class talent training and development center and wants to work with UIBE for further cooperation and exchanges.

UIBE President Wenbin XIA was impressed by the rapid, high-quality development of SUSTech. He spoke about the governance and discipline development at UIBE. He anticipated that there would be many opportunities for further partnerships and exchanges between both universities in the future. He pointed out the potential for cooperation in industry-university research, technology transfer, and international exchanges. Both universities could benefit from close partnerships in these fields.
