With the 6th Annual SUSTech Sports Meeting, the SUSTech community filled Green Pine Capital Stadium prepared to show off their athletic prowess in both traditional and technological pursuits.
At 8 am, the opening ceremony commenced, and athletes entered Green Pine Capital Stadium. 366 students and 583 faculty & staff members formed 24 teams that marched in front of the rostrum. SUSTech University Council Vice Chairperson Fengliang LI led the senior leaders who observed the opening ceremony.

The student escorts escorted the national flag, the University banner, and the school badge with full spirit to the rostrum, followed by college teams with students showing their beautiful images of youth, enthusiasm, vitality, and sports in front of the podium.
Several teams from academic, administrative, and research departments joined in the opening ceremony, resplendent in the matching uniforms. On the basis of five hospital teams last year, four hospitals, namely, Shenzhen Children’s Hospital, Shenzhen Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Shenzhen Kangning hospital, and Shenzhen Hospital of Peking University, also engaged in the sports meeting.
The host, Director of SUSTech Office of Party Affairs and Administration Siqi CHEN gave an introduction to the leaders, after which all the people stood up and sang the national anthem with eyes on the rising national flag.
Vice President Chun LU delivered a speech. He said the last decade witnessed the rapid and high-quality development of SUSTech in all aspects. Since it was founded, SUSTech has attached great importance to the development of sports, with sports venues, P.E. teachers, curriculum structure and system constantly improving. The campus sports culture is rich and colorful and our students have made excellent achievements in various sports events. He expressed his hope that the Games will show friendship and level as well as the style and strength of SUSTech people.
The one-day games are SUSTech’s largest one with the most groups in history. Athletes competed in track, field and tug of war. The wide range of traditional and intelligent physical activities kept student and faculty teams busy all day.
