Recently, the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) announced the list of 2020 NSFC-BC (British Council) funded bilateral seminars. The project of Associate Professor Yu WANG from SUSTech Center for Social Sciences at School of Humanity and Social Science, entitled“ Cross Border Water Governance under Global Localization: Knowledge, Scale, and Practice”, was among the 25 projects selected.
Under the bilateral cooperation agreement between NSFC and BC, the two sides jointly fund the bilateral seminars between China – UK young researchers in 2020 to establish future cooperative links and enhance career development opportunities. The approval of SUSTech’s project into NSFC international cooperation project reflects the characteristics of new liberal arts research in the University.
The British partner of the project is Frances Cleaver, Professor of Political Ecology, Environmental Research Center, Lancaster University. The project will organize young researchers from China and the UK to discuss cross-border water governance issues in the context of “global localization”, aiming to enhance the academic and policy influence of Chinese scholars and research institutions in the field of water governance, and provide help for academic publication, international cooperation and career planning of young researchers.
