On December 6，HSAS (The High school Affiliated to Southern University of Science and Technology)students Longshen CHEN and Jiyuan ZHANG won the championship in the World Robot Contest Final 2020 out of over 300 teams. This is the first time that HSAS students have participated in international competition.  

The World Robot Contest which is organized by the Chinese Institute of Electronics has been held each year starting from 2015, attracting over 120,000 candidates from over 20 counties. It is known as the “Olympics” of the robot industry by the major mainstream media and is a professional event in the field of robotics with wide influence at home and abroad.

The 2020 World Robot Contest focuses on the exchange of sophisticated technology, the application of industrial technology, and the influence of market scale. Four major competitions: the Integration Robot Challenge Competition, the BCI Brain-controlled Robot Competition, the Robot Application Competition, and the Youth Robot Design Competition will be held based on three major competition directions of scientific research category, skill category, and science popularization category.
