On December 10, Shenzhen former Deputy Mayor Jie TANG gave a lecture on “Review and Prospect of Reform and Innovation in Shenzhen”. University Council Vice Chairperson Fengliang LI was the host. He was joined by over 380 students and faculty.

In the lecture, Professor Jie TANG first reviewed the 40-year development of Shenzhen. He said that the transformation of Shenzhen show that it is a pioneering city, a city in pursuit of breakthrough and excellence. He quoted General Secretary Xi Jinping’s speech at the 40th-anniversary celebration conference of the establishment of the Shenzhen special economic zone to explain Shenzhen’s future development path, achieve higher-quality development that is more efficient, fairer, more sustainable, and more secure.

Prof. TANG said that Shenzhen got world-known success because it has always been practical and unswervingly pursuing innovation and industrial upgrading, with which the city will embrace more fruitful results.
