On the morning of January 19, 2021, Yingquan CAI, Executive Deputy Mayor of Baoan District, and his delegation visited Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). Fengliang LI, University Council Vice Chairperson of SUSTech, welcomed the guests.

The two parties discussed the preparations for the Southern Institute of Industrial Technology (Shenzhen) (SIIT).

Fengliang LI said that the preparations of SIIT should be carried out in detail and ensure orderly operations are in place. Both parties hope they will join forces to build a model where world-class scientific and technological talents gather, and set a benchmark for technological innovation.

Yingquan CAI introduced the groundwork of SIIT and hopes that both sides will build on current cooperations and further strengthen exchanges. He also said, together, they will build the High School Affiliated to Southern University of Science and Technology (HSAS) into a high-quality school by relying on the faculty and scientific research advantages provided by SUSTech.

Before the meeting, Yingquan CAI and his delegation visited the Exhibition of SUSTech Development and Achievements.

Dongyan ZHANG, Director of the Industry and Information Technology Bureau of Baoan District, and Zuotai ZHANG, Director of the Technology Transfer Center (TTC) at SUSTech, also attended the event.
