More than 380 students and faculty attended.

In his lecture, Gang TAN explained the new journey, new development stages, new development concepts, and new development patterns from the overall view of national development.

TAN summarized the current rejuvenation of China, stating “China is currently in the best period of development since modern times, and the world is undergoing major changes unseen in a century.” He said even though the world has entered a period of turbulence and change, there are always opportunities to develop and prosper amidst changes.

Focusing on Shenzhen, TAN discussed the development of Shenzhen and the building of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone (SEZ). He said that Shenzhen has become the prosperous city that it is today because of 40 years of hard work in developing urban construction and successfully developing the SEZ. He believes that over the next 30 years, Shenzhen will stand among the world’s most advanced cities and set a global benchmark for other cities to aspire to.

Dejun WANG, Director of SUSTech Political Education and Research Center also spoke and presented Gang TAN with the Certificate of Honor.
