On December 11, 2020, the Department of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) of Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) held the 2021 Strategic Consulting Seminar. Qikun XUE, SUSTech President, Zhenghe XU, Dean of the College of Engineering, Yong CAO, Professor of South China University of Technology, Shining ZHU, Professor of Nanjing University, Cewen NAN, Professor of Tsinghua University, Wanhua ZHENG,  the research fellow at the Institute of Semiconductors of CAS, and others attended the meeting.

The Chairperson and Deputy Director of MSE addressed the experts in attendance and discussed the overall state of affairs of the Department, the scientific research, and student training.

President XUE acknowledged the achievements of MSE and pointed out that the department should seize the opportunity to form its own characteristics and build core competitiveness.

Yong CAO, Shining ZHU, Cewen NAN, and Wanhua ZHENG put forward their opinions and suggestions on talent introduction, student training, research direction, and discipline construction. Faculty representatives Guixin LI, Xugang GUO, Zhouguang LU, and Yongye LIANG introduced their scientific research achievements to the experts.
