On the afternoon of March 4, 2021, Jianwei LI, Director of the Institute of Public Administration and Human Resources at the Development Research Center of the State Council (Public Administration Institute), visited Shenzhen. Yurong GUO, University Council Chairperson, and Fengliang LI, University Council Vice Chairperson, attended the event.

During the event, Jianwei LI spoke highly of the rapid development of SUSTech over the past decade. He said that although SUSTech has only been established for a short time, it has achieved outstanding results. The University has made a significant impact in the development of higher education in Shenzhen and has inspired other cities to follow suit.

Yurong GUO stated that SUSTech is a public research university established in Shenzhen under the backdrop of China’s higher education reform. She noted that SUSTech will integrate its planning with the national, provincial, and municipal development strategies to develop Shenzhen into a benchmark city that is recognized globally.

Lan LI and Lihui LIU, deputy directors of the Public Administration Institute, Zheng ZHAO, deputy director of the Comprehensive Research Office at the Public Administration Institute, and Gang TAN, Vice President of the Party School of Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee, were also in attendance. Both parties held in-depth discussions on the research topic “Shenzhen’s Strategic Research on Moving towards a Global Benchmark City”.
