The lecture was held at the Auditorium of Research Building 1, with more than 380 students and multi-disciplinary teachers in attendance.
Ke LIU explained the concepts of creating knowledge, turning knowledge into technology, and turning technology into products or money. He said that establishing a link between knowledge creation, innovation, and entrepreneurship is the only way to enhance China’s innovative capabilities.
Ke LIU said we must seize the opportunities presented to us to be leaders in scientific and technological developments and introduce a new era of innovation. He added that we must be willing to tackle any challenges along the way and strive to be at the global frontier of science and technology achievements.
He gave the example of Silicon Valley and how successful that has been. “Suppose we are to become the world’s new leader in scientific and technological innovation. In that case, we need to examine previous models such as Silicon Valley and understand why it has been such a success.”
Dejun WANG, Director of the Political Education and Research Center, presided over the lecture and awarded Ke LIU with an honorary certificate.
