Recently, Times Higher Education (THE) released its Engineering and Computer Science rankings in the THE World University Rankings 2022 by subject. Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) ranked between 101-125^th in Engineering globally and tied for 12^th in mainland China. Additionally, Computer Science ranked 176-200^th globally and 12^th in mainland China.

Compared to last year, the world ranking of Computer Science made significant progress, increasing from 251-300^th to 176-200^th. Among the different metrics used to measure the subject ranking for Computer Science, it ranked 2^nd in mainland China for International Outlook. Engineering maintained its ranking of 101-125^th globally. Among its metrics, it ranked 3^rd for Citations and 2^nd for International Outlook.
