On December 31, 2021, the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) and the Longgang District People’s Government of Shenzhen held a strategic cooperation agreement ceremony.

Liwei ZHANG, Party Secretary of the Longgang District Committee, Xianwang ZENG, Director of the District Committee Office, Yuan PING, Deputy District Mayor, Fengliang LI, University Council Chairperson, Siqi CHEN, Secretary-General and Director of the Office of Party Affairs and Administration, attended the signing ceremony.

The ceremony was presided over by Susheng WANG, Member of the Presidential Executive Council and General Counsel at SUSTech.

Liwei ZHANG acknowledged the achievements of SUSTech in recent years. Standing at the new starting point of the “14th Five-Year Plan”, he said that the Longgang District Government and SUSTech are continuing their in-depth cooperation in areas of industry, research, basic education, and high-end talent training.

He hopes that both parties will further strengthen cooperation in the future and, with the support of SUSTech, to integrate industrial resources, innovative talents, and education in the district.

He added that Longgang District attaches great importance to supporting and developing scientific research and technological innovation. They will continue to provide SUSTech with adequate services and fully support SUSTech to bring more success to the region.

In his remarks, Fengliang LI said that the development of universities wouldn’t be possible without the city’s support. He said that signing this agreement between both parties would further explore new development paths for basic education and higher education through training. He added that they would carry out more in-depth exchanges and discussions on sustainable development, the cultivation of emerging industries, and talent training.

Susheng WANG and Yuan PING signed the contract agreement as representatives of both parties. The heads and representatives of the relevant departments from SUSTech and the Longgang District Committee also attended the ceremony.
